The datasets behind Sell My Data Company
2 datasets, each traced to named pages and revisited on a cadence; the latest read was 2026-10-28.
| Dataset | Headline figure | Sources | Read |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who buys data companies, in their own words | 11 of 14 buyers | 14 of read | 2026-10-28 |
| Reviews a data company sale can trigger | 5 reviews | 5 of read | 2026-10-28 |
The method
Each dataset begins with a written question and a list of the pages that might answer it. We read those pages and keep the sentence that states the figure word for word, together with its link and the date.
A person reviews each sentence before it counts and records the reason when one is turned away. The summary figures use one number per source, and one per breakdown where a source prices several. A source with no figure stays blank, and repeat reads show how the numbers change over time.
