Documents we read but did not count
3 named documents were read but are not the kind of document this board answers from; see why below. They are counted and never answered.
- DCVC (Data Collective): the home page names the fund Data Collective but states a deep tech focus, not data companies
- Flippa: a marketplace, admitted for name discovery only
- Aventis Advisors: who is buying data and analytics firms: an adviser's count of acquirers, admitted for name discovery only
How the figures are worked out
Each buyer's own investors' and acquirers' own home, about and fund pages were read through estate-fetch and stored whole (sha256 on every row).
For every buyer's own page, four questions were answered from its own words: what kind of buyer, what data business it says it backs, how the page says it, the page, in its words.
Every stated answer carries the sentence it rests on, checked against the stored text; 'not stated' means the buyer's own page read does not address the question.
A buyer with several buyers' own pages reads 'varies' where they disagree.
14 buyers, 14 buyers' own pages.
